Beauty Tips - Face Care Basics

Debrah Dragon asked:

Just washing your face with beauty soap twice a day is not enough. You will need to work a little bit harder than that since unlike other parts of your body your face is very sensitive and remains constantly exposed to the elements. There are thousands of products available to us these days to help make us look beautiful. Foundation mousse, lip plumper, eye glitters and concealers, we're so busy with our makeup that we sometimes forget about the needs of the face underneath it. But when it comes right down to it, your face will look better, whether you're wearing makeup or not, if you take care of it first.

So pay attention to your skin, and meet your skin's needs face-forward. When it comes to a fresh face, it's all about the cleanser.

Using the right cleanser will require that you have some knowledge about your skin such as, i.e. oily, dry or normal. Selecting a cleanser accordingly will ensure that the cleanser works to its full potential. You should always opt to use cleansers that are natural, which will eliminate any chances of it causing any side effects.

Daily use of a good cleanser is the starting point for glowing skin. You should use a gentle, non-comedogenic (non-pore-clogging) cleanser that won't dry your skin out. And remember, more isn't better- washing your face too frequently can dry out your skin, making your sweat-producing glands work overtime to keep up, resulting in oily, unhappy skin. Washing twice a day should do it. If your skin has a tendency toward acne, you can use an acne-cleanser with ingredients like salicylic acid and Benzoyl peroxide to help your skin absorbs acne treatments, but the same rule goes-stick to two washes a day.

Most people should also have a face moisturizer. Even if you already have a moisturizing cream that you use from the rest of your body, you probably need a different one for you face, because your face's skin and your body's skin have different needs. To meet those needs, get a light moisturizer for your face, one that is non-comedogenic like your face cleanser, to avoid clogging your pores and causing acne breakouts. A good moisturizer will keep your skin looking young and fresh, prevent dryness that leads it itchiness, flaking, and sometimes blemishes, and help fight off the early onset of fine wrinkles.

However, to fully protect your skin from the affects of aging, your moisturizer should also contain UV protection. Studies have shown that exposure to the sun causes premature aging of the skin. A tan looks nice, but tans are temporary-and wrinkles are forever. Your daily moisturizer should have a minimum SPF protection of 15, and if you know you're going to be out in the sun a lot, use a stronger SPF sunscreen, and apply liberally and regularly.

Finally, lifestyle habits count big. Smoking and excessive drinking can wreak havoc on your complexion, and a good night's sleep and healthy, balanced diet give you a glow that nothing else in the world can. Frequent vacations and lots of rest work wonders. Take care of yourself, and your skin will take care of you. Feed your face the best your can and in return you will look much better than you currently do. By using the right stuff you can reduce years of your age, without having to resort to surgery or other forms of artificial methods.

A Unique Beauty Contest Made of Fruits

Lilia Parker asked:

Healthy food guidelines on how to conduct an enjoyable healthy colourful party for children: Fruit Beauty Contest. Be unique - and stay health!

Most of us housewives have pretty good knowledge of how to make tasty and healthy desserts from fruits and berries. That said, you can add to your recipe books with a wealth of unique and trusty recipes if you visit the site "Kind Fairytales" and have a flick through Vol. One "Fruits and Berries" from "The Fairytale Guide to Healthiness", Why not try out some of the more unusual healthy recipes with your children, like "Apples in their jackets," or "Banana icicles" and let them actively participate in the preparation. If your child doesn't like apples or bananas, we can guarantee that they will come round once they can help their mums or grandmas to make these culinary masterpieces!

It's birthday time for the apples, pears, bananas....

This game works best if you get an invitation together the night before. It can be homemade or bought but you must invite your child to the birthday party of any fruit that you happen to have in your larder. Your child will be amazed and excited at the fact that they have received the invite. Once you have given them the invitation, sit down with them and discuss what present they would like to take with them to the party. The present can be a basket of fruit for example or some kind of doily on which they can draw a picture of the 'birthday boy/girl'. If not, they could just draw a portrait and put it in a nice frame. Bear in mind that you will need to speak for the birthday boy/girl though! Create a scene where you greet the guests and place the presents on a beautiful celebratory table. Allow your child to mingle with the guests, and ask questions etc. Under no circumstances refuse when your child asks to eat some of the fruit! You should never offend the birthday person!

The Apple, Plum, Pear, Berries.... Beauty Contest

This contest is better played at the harvest time of berries or fruit. Ask your child to sort through the fruits, so that they can make strawberry jam for example. Then ask the children to decide which fruit is the most appetising. The berries can be arranged on different plates or in vases. You won't be able to resist popping the nicest ones in your mouth! After you have finished sorting them out, invite all the family to the 'berry beauty contest.'

Announce that the beauty queen and her friends (carefully selected by the jury) will be frozen and then invited to the New Year party. The rest of the berries should be eaten with the applaus of everybody. Make sure that a pair of berries is left behind after the contest. The aim will be to eat these for at the end for an extra vitamin 'pick me up'.

Fruit Portraits

All children love to paint so why not get your child to open up an art studio in his/her room? You can prepare a beautiful scene from which the 'famous young artist' can paint portraits of fruits and berries. Get them to wear an artist's gown and give them a palette of paints to hold. Then offer them paintbrushes, pens and pencils so as to create the perfect 'artistic' atmosphere. Invite all the fruits along to the 'sitting' in your home.

Each painting can be done on a separate sheet of canvas and don't forget to get your child to place their signature on the bottom of each one! In between each sitting you must refresh yourselves by tasting some of the fruit and berries whose portraits you find the best... or the worst. If your child gets fed up with painting you could just get them to draw a group portrait or a still life. The main thing is that your child is engaged in the activity and is enthusiastic about eating the apples, pears etc...

Vitamin Doctor

Right, so after you have your portraits of the fruits and berries, you can acquaint your child with their health benefits. If you don't have any diagrams, you could ask for a picture card from a gardener or fruit grower. You can then prepare the game involving the 'fruit doctor.' On the back of each card you can write the health benefits of the fruit. You can look up the benefits in any medical guide on general health. When you have prepared everything, sit your child down with their puppets, toy mice, rabbits etc. and take them on a journey to the country of vitamins and tasty cures. You can be the tour guide.

Show them the drawing cards and then read the advice on the back. You could pretend that one of the toys has an illness and then show them how to cure it. To finish the tour, you can sample the vitamins in the form of a juice or fresh fruit of berries.

Tasty Arithmetic

This is a very simple but worthwhile game as it teaches your child to count using not sticks or balls but rather fruits and berries. With these you can demonstrate a range of arithmetic activities. Cut the apples up into segments and count them. Once you have eaten the apple segments add some berries to a plate and increase the number of them so that you have several plates. You can have lots of fun with raisins, dates and cherries! After the lesson you can taste the tasty arithmetic!

Beauty Tips - Using Corrective Body Makeup to Hide Imperfections

Debrah Dragon asked:

For a majority of us our bodies are not perfect, and for many of us we are always finding a way to cover those imperfections which can range from moles to scars. Corrective body makeup gives us a way to hide those imperfections, making our bodies look flawless.

A cosmetic product not as widely used or well known as foundation or coverup for the face, is something called corrective body makeup. It works in much the same way as foundation or coverup, except that it is used for your hands, legs, arms, or anywhere else on your body!

Some women have scars or other imperfections on their hands that make them feel self conscious. If you have blotchy skin from too much sun exposure, flaws including age spots, bruises, varicose veins, unsightly birth marks or stretch marks, or even for a tattoo you want to cover or hide- covering up with some corrective body makeup can help you feel better about yourself and more confident.

Water Resistant

Corrective body makeup is perfect for days at the beach and even when swimming! When wearing a bathing suit, there is very little you can "hide"; but when you slather some of this product over your arms, legs, feet, hands (and belly if wearing a two piece!) you can minimize the effects of skin imperfections and create a more flawless look. Corrective body makeup is smudge and water resistant, so it will stay on even as you swim, splash with the kids or play in the sand.

Other Benefits of Corrective Body Makeup

In addition to helping you look good and feel better about yourself, the corrective body makeup products also protect your skin against harmful effects of the sun because it includes a sunscreen. As if that wasn't enough, it also contains moisturizing ingredients and treats your body with gluconolactone, polyhydroxy acid and antioxidants.

Corrective body makeup also has a slight tinge of color to it, so it can be used for a natural looking tan- perfect when just starting out the summer season before you've had a chance to bronze your pale, winter skin! Just choose the shade that closest matches your skin if you don't want to appear tanned, and choose a slightly darker shade when you are looking for that sun-kissed look.

Hiding Tattoos

Whether you love your tattoo or you regret the day you let someone brand you with a needle- you can slather on some corrective body makeup whenever you want to hide your tattoo. Perhaps you have a job interview and don't want an obvious tattoo to create the wrong first impression; or maybe you've changed your mind about your tattoo and wish it never happened? Hide it with the body makeup until you have the time to have your tattoo removed!

The greatest thing about body makeup is that it would not appear as makeup at all. It blends in with the color of your skin giving it a natural look. It saves you a lot of frustration and annoyance specially when you are trying to select a trendy new outfit. The latest designs expect that you have a flawless body, when in reality probably none of us do. So corrective body is here to the rescues. The amazing thing about this is nobody would ever know that you even have an imperfection that you are trying to cover-up.

Fresh: Daily Beauty Guide

Victoria asked:

For a busy woman on the go, it is a challenge to make sure that you completed your daily beauty regiment. How many times have you forgotten to add a moisturizer, style your hair, spray a sweet smelling perfume, etc.? It has happened to all busy women. To help you with your daily beauty, just remember this acronym FRESH (face, rouge, eyes, scent, and hair), so you wouldn’t forget anything.

Face

After you get out of the shower, the first thing you should start beautifying is your face. First, put moisturizer and anti wrinkle cream if needed onto your skin. Wait a few minutes. Then, add your concealer and foundation, so your face looks one color. Remember to pat your foundation and concealer to blend and never rub them in. Otherwise, you defeat the purpose of using foundation and concealer to hide unwanted blemishes, wrinkles, dark circles, age spots, etc. After you are finished, add some powder on top of your fountain and concealer. Remember your face at this point should look like a blank canvas.

Rouge

Once your face is one color, now it’s time to add some life. First, add blush or bronzer to parts of your face that the sun will hit such as cheeks, chin, forehead, and nose. Then, add lip gloss or lip stick to enhance your lips. If you plan to add more emphasis to your lips, pick darker colors. However if you want to bring out your eyes, deemphasize your lips by using pale neutral colors.

Eyes

If you wear contact lenses, put them in before you even start applying your makeup. Otherwise if you are teary eyed, you may mess up your makeup. Once you added a base and color, it’s time to make your eyes gorgeous. If you choose to stick with a soft color for your lips, you can add more color, eye liner, and mascara to your eyes. You want to stick with natural colors for eye shadow such as purple, pink, and browns. These colors are great for women who emphasized their lips. However if you have green, blue, or hazel eyes, you can add more trendy colors such as light green, pale blues, or soft yellows. Remember to blend your eye shadow and make sure it looks natural. Afterwards, you can add eye liner, which is perfect for going out at night. For eyeliner, you want natural colors such as black, brown, or violet. Then, put a light coating of black or brown mascara on your eye lashes. Now, you are finished with your makeup.

Scent

The next step is to add a scent such as a fragrance or perfume. When choosing a scent, you want something that is light smelling and compliments the season. Some seasonal scents are apples and pears for the fall, holiday berries and peppermints for the winter, flowers and strawberries for the spring, and ocean and watermelon for the summer. Regardless of what scents you choose, just be careful not to purchase strong scents that make others sneeze because they may not want to be near you. After you picked a scent that is appropriate for the season and others, you can apply it to your wrists and/or neck.

Hair

Finally if you are in a hurry, your hair should brush and comb your hair before styling it with a flat iron, blower dryer, and/or curling iron. However if it is a nice day out and you can wait an hour to leave your home, you can always towel dry your hair and let the heat dry it. After you are done styling your hair, you may want to brush it again to put it up or leave it down. You can also add any other hair products such as anti frizz or volumizer for lasting affects.

If you are a busy woman on the go, FRESH (face, rouge, eyes, scent, and hair) should help you remember your daily beauty care. If you want to save money on your next beauty purchase visit the link below for make up coupons and free make up samples.

Beauty Tips for an Evening Look

Donna Trolet asked:

When you are getting ready to go out for the evening you will want to make sure that you know how to apply your makeup in a way that will give you a gorgeous night time look. Many women wear their makeup the same way whether it is daytime or evening. This can lead them to look washed out and pale in the evening hours. You want to make sure that you apply your makeup a certain way to accomplish that great evening look when you head out for the night.

The first thing that you want to do is to start with the right foundation, it should be light and the right shade for your skin tone. Then you will want to use three different shades of eye shadow on your eyes. Start by applying the lightest color to your entire eyelid up to the bottom of your eyebrow. Take the medium shade and apply it to your your eyelid and just above the crease. The dark color will be applied to right above the crease and around to right below your bottom eyelashes, this will create a smoky look that is great for evening. Next, you are going to apply your eyeliner and your mascara.

When it comes to blush, you are going to use a little more for an evening look than you would if it were daytime. You want to apply it to the apples of your cheeks, unless you have a very round face. Women with round faces will want to apply it up near their temples. You should use a darker lip gloss for the evening and if you are trying to make your lips appear fuller then you will outline them with that same shade of lip liner and then apply the gloss. To really make them fuller take a lighter shade of lip gloss and add it to just the middle part of your lips. Now you are ready for your evening.

Beauty Tips - Make The World Smell A Little Nicer

Debrah Dragon asked:

Smells mean a lot to us then we may notice, good smells attract while bad smells repel. Our in many cases our nose is our most relied and trusted allay, giving us feedback about what is good and what is not good for us.

Do you wish the world could be just a little bit nicer? Well, with a fragrance and perfume set, at least your part of it can smell a lot nicer. Take the fragrance you love with you everywhere by getting it in multiple product-types, so the world can always smell just how you want it to, wherever you go.

Whether you don't normally wear a scent and you're looking to try one out, or you do, but you feel ready for a change, a fragrance set can give you the options you need. But first, you have to determine what kind of scent you're looking for. Fragrances and perfumes can have aromas ranging from flirty and fruity to flowery and fresh, so you'll want to get a sense of what suits you before you purchase your set. You may even want to go home wearing a sample of your top choice the first time you go shopping, just to see how it wears on you. The scent of a good perfume continues to develop throughout the day, so try it out to see if you like what it develops into.

Next, you should decide what you want out of your set. A fragrance and perfume set can come with anything from multiple perfumes to body splash, bar soaps, body mist, and deodorants, so decide which uses suit your lifestyle the most. If you don't like the idea of a strong smell, or have a high sensitivity to scents, you might want to go for a mild fragrance set, with a body wash or soap and a body mist. These will give you a light, fresh scent without feeling obvious or oppressive.

Of course, a scent never should be oppressive, to you, or your neighbors. If you decide on a set that contains a strong perfume, make sure to always use it in moderation. Ingredients in many perfumes can cause irritation to the skin and lungs, especially in asthmatics, when worn to heavily. You don't want to come to work thinking you smell lovely, only to end up giving your office-mate an asthma attack. If you have a sensitivity or allergy to the strong chemicals frequently used in perfumes and fragrances, you should look for a set that uses only all-natural ingredients. These can be easier on your skin, as well as your nose. Apply with care, and enjoy, all day long.

Scents have a way of customizing themselves, they do this by mixing up with your personal bodies odor to provide you with your own slightly unique scent, which is always positive. No two people that have applied the same scent will eventually end up smelling the same. This is what makes scents so unique, and this is where you will really find out if a particular scent is really for you or not. Scents are a way of scent communication, between people. It makes the impression even before you start, so choosing the right scent is always important.

Should I Buy a Beauty Book?

Carroll Willis asked:

Are you interested in improving your appearance? If you are, are you interested in learning what types of makeup is best for you, as well as how to properly apply it? If you are, you may have turned to the internet or to fashion magazines, but have you ever thought about buying a beauty book? If you haven't or even if you have, you may be wondering whether or not beauty books are really worth the money.

When it comes to determining whether or not beauty books are worth the money, there are a number of important factors that should be taken into consideration. For instance, beauty books come in a number of different formats. If you are looking for something in particular, like how to properly apply and remove makeup, you may be able to find a beauty book that specializes solely on those tasks. Beauty books that are right to the point and contain the information that you are looking are the best and they are definitely worth your money.

In addition, when trying to determine if beauty books are worth the buy, you will want to individually examine each book that you are interested in buying. Books may cover the same topics, but the information inside of them may be presented in different ways. For instance, if you were looking to buy a beauty book that outlined the proper ways to apply makeup, you likely want to see drawings or pictures; right? Just so you know, not all beauty guides contain detailed pictures or drawings. That is why it is important that you learn as much as you can about a beauty book before deciding to buy one.

Although the beauty book or books that you would like to buy are important in determining if the book or books are the worth your money, so is the location in which you buy them from. You should know that beauty books can be found at an unlimited number of different locations. For starters, you can buy beauty books from your local bookstores, beauty supply stores, department stores, and fashion stores. In addition to storefront locations, you can also buy beauty books from a number of online retailers. You will want to think comparing prices first to ensure that you are getting the best deal or at least to make sure that you aren't being overcharged.

If you are interested in buying a beauty book, but you are also on a tight budget, you may want to think about buying used books. There are a number websites, including online auction websites, where you can buy used books, including used beauty books. Also, if you like to attend yard sales or book sales, you may want to think about keeping your open for beauty books. Yard sales, thrift stores, and online auction websites often allow you to get a used book for fifty or even seventy-five percent off the normal asking price.

The decision as to where you want to buy a beauty book from, as well as which book you would like to buy is yours to make. With that in mind, however, it is important to make sure that you know exactly what you are buying. Just buying a beauty book without skimming through the book first or reading online reviews is almost always a surefire way to be met with disappointment or even end up wasting your money.

Skincare for Beautiful Hands

Susanne Naess, Beauty Development Manager asked:

Skincare for beautiful hands

Our hands are the most visible part of our bodies and the ultimate accessory. Hands take a lot of abuse in everyday activities and are constantly exposed to hot and cold climates. Hands are often roughly treated while washing clothes, dishes, scrubbing floors and working in the garden. We often have a tendency to neglect our hands, and do not take proper care to keep them looking young and groomed.

There are a few easy steps you can follow for keeping your hands soft and beautiful. Consider the following tips:

Keep hands warm in cold weather with warm gloves. Cold weather can severely dry out hands and make wrinkles look much worse.

Remember to moisturize your hands frequently using a good rich hand cream.

Avoid nail varnish removers containing Acetone, as these will dry out your nails.

Use a wooden or metal cuticle pusher after a shower to keep your cuticles looking neat. Cuticles function as barriers against bacteria and fungus, but they can often overgrow. Gently push the cuticles back, never cut your cuticles as it can result in hangnails which can be very painful.

Give nails breathing room. Experts suggest you take a one-week break from polish every month.

Exfoliate your hands once a week by using a solution of sea salt mixed with lemon juice. Brush the paste into your hands with an old toothbrush to remove any dead skin cells.

Sun exposure damages skin so use sunscreen lotion on hands before venturing outside.

Lemon juice is a great treatment to lighten age spots. Dab some lemon juice on a cotton wool and rub unto hands.

For silky smooth hands apply petroleum jelly to hands and cover with cotton gloves while you sleep.

Improve circulation and loosen your finger joints with some hand exercise. Clench your fists tightly for a second and them throw them open so that your fingers are spread as wide as possible. Steadily repeat this 10 times.

Doing your own nails is economical and practical, but a professional manicure every two or three months welcomes a bit of pampering. Professional beauty therapists can deal with tough problems like flaking cuticles and calluses better than you can at home.

Hand and feet care regimes are two of the most popular treatment services carried out by beauticians today. The purpose of the manicure and pedicure is to improve the appearance and condition of hands and feet. Once considered a luxury treatment for only the few, today those services are used by many. Special treatments such as a warm oil bath, paraffin wax treatments and herbal therapies can keep your hands soft and supple forever. Having a professional manicure and pedicure on a regular basis is highly recommended and will have your nails and hand looking beautiful!

Beauty Tips - Care For Troubled Nails

Debrah Dragon asked:

Do your nails constantly flake, tear and chip? Are you tired of them catching on the threads of your favorite shirts? Sick of getting manicures, only to have one of your nails get ruined within an hour? It doesn't always have to be like this. Even if you inherited bad nails from your parents, there are lots of steps that you can take to keep them strong, healthy and beautiful. Today it is easier to maintain good nails with all the various formulas and products around to give you a helping hand. And unbelievably you don't need a manicure too keep your nails in good condition. There are various things you can do to keep your nails in good condition.

First, step away from the nail polish! No one wants to hear it, but the fact is, if you have severely dry or weak fingernails that tend to crack, you shouldn't be using nail polish on a regular basis. Nail polish removers contain alcohol, which draws necessary moisture out of your already-dry nails, making them more vulnerable to splitting. So only use nail polish on an occasional basis, to minimize remover usage. So the lesson to learn here is to limit if not discontinue the use of nail polish until you get the condition of your nails back on track.

That doesn't mean that your nails can't have a nice shine, though. Buffing your nails instead of polishing them gives your nails the same glow that you would get from a clear polish, but without the negative side effects. Just buy yourself a simple three-step buffer, and shine to your heart's content. Amazingly a nail buffer works wonders for your nails. Your nails can actually start looking better than they ever were. However a nail buffers should not be used regularly rather they should be used after regular intervals.

There are other simple steps that you can take to protect the balance of moisture in your nails. Wearing gloves while you wash dishes, or during any other activity that might allow your nails to soak, helps protect them from drying out. Using a heavy hand moisturizer also helps, by restoring a little moisture to nails that are already dry. And with nails, like with the rest of you, diet counts big. Having a protein-rich diet, complete with folic acids, supplies your body with the right building-blocks for healthy nails. Give your body what it wants, and it will give you what you want.

Finally, normal day-to-day nail care procedures help keep damaged nails healthy. Don't let your nails grow too long; it might look nice, but if you have weak nails, it just makes them more vulnerable to breakage. Instead, be in charge of your nail length. Keep them trimmed closer to the finger, and keep them trimmed to the same length. Use a file to rub down rough edges- not only does this help prevent tearing caused by rough snags catching on fabric, but it allows you to shape your nails however you like. And never, ever bite. It doesn't look good, and it's bad for your teeth. Follow these steps, and your nails- and your sweaters' will thank you!

Your nails play an important way in the way your hand looks. A set of good nails will make you look and feel dashing.

Beauty Tips - Complete Your Experience With Bath And Body Accessories

Debrah Dragon asked:

Bath and body products are now and have always been one of the most popular items for women. They purchase these products for themselves, for their friends, for their family members, and love to receive them as gifts. However, these days there is so much more to bath and body than just the soaps, lotions, body scrubs, and other items you find in a bath and body set, now you can complete the experience with accessories.

There are many different kinds of bath and body accessories available on the market; the key to finding the right ones for you is understanding yourself and your needs. What do you expect when you purchase bath and body products? Are you looking to spoil yourself? We all love to pamper ourselves now and then, and why not - we deserve it! So complete your bath and body set with some great accessories.

When purchasing bath and body accessories it is good to be able to distinguish between gimmicks and real products that work. A good way to avoid gimmicks and opt for useful products is to consult a reputable online store or offline that sells bath and body accessories. Here you are sure to only find products that are real and will really work for your skin.

You can also browse through the various new products that are introduced and purchase the ones that you fancy for a spin. Many of the new products are usually extensions or improvements to already existing products; these products aim to improve your bathing experience.

It is also a good idea to buy a complete Bath and Body Accessories kit that includes all the products that you need in one neat package. This can save you time searching for individual products.

Some accessories to consider include the bath brush. A bath brush helps you reach areas that the human body is not capable of naturally reaching without some assistance. These brushes not only work to cleanse your skin, but they also polish and scrub, leaving you the silky and smooth skin you are looking for.

Poofs are a popular accessory as well. These are convenient, safe, and effective to use. Poofs take the place of traditional washcloths and work so much better. Now, you can rejuvenate and exfoliate your skin cells, while cleansing at the same time. Furthermore, poofs are more sanitary than the traditional wash cloth, they resist bacteria, without the need to put them in the washing machine.

Another accessory particularly great for exfoliation is the loofah. These work great for exfoliating the skin, as well as increasing circulation of the blood within the skin. Keeping your skin looking health, young, and beautiful.

Of course, while those are some of the most popular bath and body accessories available on the market, there are many others, all of which are readily available to make your pamper time more enjoyable and beneficial all at the same time.

Some other accessories to think about include pumice stones, sponges, soap dishes, eye pillows, and bath pillows. Many of these can be customized to fit the feel and décor of your bathroom and fit right in with your other bathroom accessories. On the other hand, since you are pampering yourself, go for your favorite colors; forget about matching the rest of the décor!

Beauty Tips - Aromatherapy Comes In Different Forms

Debrah Dragon asked:

Aroma therapy is based upon the principle that scents and smells trigger our body's immune system that strengthens it in order to combat illnesses. Originally practiced in India this relatively new from of treatment in the west is fast gaining popularity because of its ease and ecstasy it provides along with treating illnesses. It in principle defeats the age old saying of "no pain no gain", because it is absolutely painless and rater the reverse.

Have you ever felt calmed by a sweet aroma, or had a nice smell send you on a walk down memory lane? Then you've already experienced some of the benefits of aromatherapy. Essential oils can be a powerful weapon in the battle for your physical and psychological well-being. And you don't have to get an expensive massage at a spa to enjoy them. Used properly, aromatherapy can help sooth your mind as well as your body, putting you on your way to a happier, healthier lifestyle, in the comfort of your own home.

Aromatherapy can be practiced in a number of ways. One of the simplest and most convenient ways to enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy is through the use of aromatherapy candles or diffusers. Essential oil diffusers gently heat the oil of your choice, diluted with water, in a small dish, evaporating the oil into the air to help clear your respiratory system, and calm your mind. Aromatherapy candles, when made with pure essential oils, give you the same benefits with no fuss or hassle. For a more intensive and relaxing treatment, take an essential oil bath. You can either purchase bath oil beads, allowing them to disintegrate in warm bathwater, or pour the essential oil of your choice into the running water, stirring thoroughly before entering. An aromatherapy bath can help relieve aching, tired muscles while still invigorating your respiratory system and calming your nerves. Simply soak, breathe deeply, and enjoy.

Another method of relief is an aromatherapy massage. You don't need an appointment with a professional to take full advantage of your essential oil's healing powers. Applying your oils directly to your skin to achieve a result similar to the aromatherapy bath. Simply massage the oils into a sore muscle or aching joint, and allow the oils to penetrate your skin, soothing the affected area.

Aroma therapy is a great way to relieve yourself from muscular pain, flue and colds. It begins to work almost instantaneously for most kinds of illnesses and would just require a few sessions to recover completely. This form of therapy is a great way to relax and is specially useful to people who work high pressure jobs, such as doctors, bankers, stock brokers etc.

Though they can all be used in these manners, different essential oils possess different restorative properties and functions, from everything to relieving headaches and depression to helping you sleep, so do a little research before choosing your oils. For instance, black pepper is known for its ability to lessen aches and pain, while eucalyptus is frequently used to clear congestion during illness. If you know what affect you're looking for in your essential oil, it will be easier to find the right one for you, and when you find the right one for you, it's easier to enjoy life in general. Try aromatherapy- your body deserves it.

Beauty Tips - Care For The Skin Of Your Body

Debrah Dragon asked:

With our busy lives, it can be hard to find the time to give our bodies the attention they deserve. But if you don't find that time, it shows, and you feel it. Healthy bodies look better, and they feel better. So take the time to take care of yourself, and feel great about doing it. Bear in mind that it is well worth the extra effort.

First and foremost, keep it clean! There is nothing more fundamental to your body's overall health than basic hygiene. Everyone should bathe thoroughly every day, without neglecting any part-no pinky is too small, no toe is too far away for the scrub-brush. Not only is a good scrub sanitary, but it helps keep your skin glowing by removing grime and dead skin cells to reveal the fresh, beautiful skin below. And a relaxing bath or shower is good for your mental health. Use your bathing time as personal mental-health time, letting yourself unwind a little bit.

Frankly, just bathing just does not contribute a big deal to personal hygiene. It is when you use the proper products, such as a bubble bath or a body scrub that you are truly cleaning your body. However it is easy to overlook this fact, because most people consider just using a bar of ordinary soap and water to be hygienic. This may have been true in the dark ages, but it does not certainly work now.

Stress may be psychological, but it has physical manifestations that show big time- blemishes and cold sores can be brought on by un-managed stress, so clear your mind as well as your skin. To continue to protect that skin throughout the day, you should use a moisturizer to help fend off dry skin and itchiness, as well as to protect it against the cold and wind. And to truly do everything that you can to keep your skin healthy and young, your moisturizer should always have UV protection in it-dermatologists recommend a minimum of SPF 15. Nothing wrinkles and ages your skin like the sun, so protect yourself from it every day, even cloudy days, and in the winter, and use heavy sunscreen when you know you're going to be out in the sun for long periods. A tan may look nice for now, but you'll thank yourself for the sunscreen a few years down the road, when all of your tan friends look like an old leather handbags and your skin is still smooth as porcelain.

To maximize your body's overall health and look, life habits count big. You can put all the cucumbers on your eyes that you want, but if you aren't getting enough sleep at night, that puffiness and those under-eye bags aren't going anywhere. You can moisturize your skin, and use the best shampoos and conditioners, but if you aren't eating a healthy, vitamin-rich diet, it will show in your complexion and the shine of your hair. Pay attention to the basics. Get eight hours of sleep, plenty of exercise, and eat a well-balance diet from diverse sources, and you won't just feel incredible-you'll look fantastic!

Always remember that it is never too late to look better. With a proper diet and lots of relaxation you can actually begin to look younger. Don't forget to drink lots of water and remember that your body is your temple so take care of it the way you are supposed to.

Golden Beauty Tips for Bathing

peterhutch asked:

Bathing can be done at any time of day and is wonderfully inexpensive. Once or twice a week, you might try to make a habit of taking an evening bath to ease away the stresses of the day. For mental and emotional renewal, make your bathroom truly enticing. To ensure this simple but essential cleansing ritual can also be an unhurried luxury, you must first remove the kids, take the phone off the hook, and clean away clutter.

Bathing can be made a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Making the right kind of arrangements in the bathroom and adding the right kind accessories in the bathroom can make your bath refreshing and soothing. Mechanism is similar as in case of anorexia. Sick people take advantage in each chance to take just a bit of ultraviolet.

Sunbathing in solarium is completely safe. Safe sunbathing does not exist, neither on sun neither in solarium, but it is possible to make it less risky by using certain principles. Sunny radiation is in big part UVB causing fast turn of epidermus into red colour. Lamps in solarium emit UVA rays, mainly reaching to deeper skin coats. It is worth knowing, that 15 minutes spent in solarium skin will remember as whole day spent on sun.

Reach for concealer first - A good concealer makes the most immediate and dramatic difference in how you look. It lightens dark circles, brightens your face, and makes you look well rested. Look for a creamy formula that's yellow based and one shade lighter than your skin tone. Use your fingers or a concealer brush to apply a generous amount of concealer under the eyes, up to the lash lines and at the innermost corner of the eyes. Gently pat with your fingertips to smooth, and then lock it in with loose powder applied with a powder puff.

Adding bath salts is an inexpensive way to enjoy a soothing bath. Milk baths are popular and choose one with organic sea salts that is gentle on the skin. The milk will leave your skin supple and soft. Bath salts with essential oils such as lavender can also provide therapeutic benefits.

Choose Skirts or Swim Shorts for Larger Legs - Skirts and women's swim shorts are a great way to have the versatility of a bath suit with the coverage of normal apparel. While you can provide extra coverage by wearing a skirt or a pair of shorts on top of your bathing suit, skirts and shorts that are meant to be worn while in the water offer you the constant coverage from beach blanket to ocean front.

You should skin a shower as often as you can. This may not seem like appealing advice but the more time you have in between the showers, the better. Skip a shower for a whole day once or twice a week, especially in the winter. Allow your skin to produce and maintain its natural oils.

You should use Dove Unscented or Basis for Sensitive Skin on your body and either a soap free cleanser or nothing at all on mucous membranes, if you have normal skin.

Apply soap to the upper part of your body. Rub every part except your breasts with the friction mitt. Pay special attention to your neck and clean it with the friction mitt.

Achieving That Cover Girl Look - Beauty Tips

Jennet asked:

Have you ever look at a magazine and admire the makeup of your favorite model or movie star? While these celebrities usually travel with a health and beauty staff dedicated to making them look flawless, there are some things you can do to have the same flawless appearance.

Let's take a look at some tips to make you movie-star beautiful and provide you with some health and beauty dollar savings:

1. Always start your makeup application with concealer. Concealer will hide a multitude of sins - under-eye circles, bags, and blemishes. When blending concealer around your eye area, use your ring finger. The skin around the eye is extremely delicate and using your ring finger makes it less likely to stretch the fragile skin.

2. Before you put on moisturizer, rub your hands together. When you rub your hands together, you warm them slightly which makes the moisturizer absorb into your skin better.

3. Want to have lipstick that lasts for hours. Start by applying your lipstick. Next brush a little loose power on your lips. Blot the powder and lipstick with tissue paper, and reapply the lipstick.

4. Suffering a recent outbreak of pimples? Add a little witch hazel to your foundation. It creates a medicated foundation for treatment of your acne symptoms.

5. Trying to save a little money on make-up? Instead of buying a contouring powder, purchase face powder a few shades darker than your skin tone, and be prepared to blend for a natural look.

6. The best mascara is the most expensive, right? Not at all. Most of the mascaras use similar formulations, and some of the make-up brands are made by the same company. For instance, Lancome and L'Oreal are the same company - just different product lines and packaging. Look for a good mascara that has lengthening and volumizing properties. 7. You don't need a lot of makeup to look perfect. If your skin is good, use a few touches of concealer, blush, mascara and lip gloss, and set it all with a good loose powder. You'll look simple and natural.

8. When applying lip gloss, put a small drop on the center of your lip, and gently spread it outwards. This avoids the appearance of too much, and gloppy lips.

9. Make sure you use eye shadow correctly. Darker colors should go towards the outer corner of the eye to make the eye appear open and larger. Use a soft, natural shade towards the inside of your eye (close to the nose area).

Let's face it, we're all love to play with health and beauty products. But sometimes, a little makeup goes a long way. While it's tempting to throw everything on, it just makes you look too made-up. The best health beauty free approach is to go for a natural appearance. You want people to look at you, not your makeup.

Debrah Dragon asked:

Finding time these days is close to being lucky enough to dig out a live corpse. It is so tough these days that many things that we mean to do always end up incomplete or un-attempted. On the other hand when it comes to a fresh face there are many quick things you can resort to that will enable you to look fresher, energetic and bright. And the best part is that many of these methods won't require you to purchase any fancy products.

If you've got five minutes, you've got time to rejuvenate your tired-looking face and give yourself a fresh and healthy look. There are a number of facial masks that you can use at home in five or ten minutes that will perk you right up and at the same time, give your face a deep cleaning to pull out blackheads, impurities and sloth away dead skin cells so that the new ones can glow!

Choosing a face mask can be overwhelming when you walk through the aisles of the pharmacy or department store. Your skin type is the major factor in how to pick a particular face mask product. If you have dry skin, you'll want to select a moisturizing face mask. If you have naturally oily skin, then look for a mask product that helps remove some of the oil without drying your skin out. Does your skin lack the youthful glow it once had? Chances are a radiance mask (one designed to get rid of the dead skin cells that make your skin appear dull) is the perfect choice. If you've been noticing some drooping of the skin, a face mask can help tighten and firm the skin of your face as well. Finally, if you just want to get a very deep cleaning from a mask, you can pull out the stuff stuck deep into your pores with a purifying or decongesting face mask meant to do the dirty work!

Deep Cleaning Masks

Many people choose a mask to deep clean their pores. Most also contain the added benefit of exfoliation that helps remove the dead skin cells and brighten up your face. Clay masks will deep clean, and harden as it is left on the face to set. After a specified time period you wash off the clay mask and are left with a fresh face!

Some deep cleaning masks are made from a clear material that sets and firms as it dries on your face. With your fingers, you peel off the mask after it's dried, and rinse any remaining residue off.

You can find masks that set and dry within five minutes of applying- or you can opt for masks that tell you to leave them on for an hour or more for optimum results. Always be sure to follow instructions carefully to use the mask products safely. Don't forget to use the mask that suites your skin type. Also try to purchase or prepare a mask that does not have any artificial ingredients.

Attending to your face today will ensure that your face looks young and fresh for many years to come. So making a habit of using these time efficient methods on a daily basis will ensure the youth of your face.

Beauty Tips - Removing Blackheads

Debrah Dragon asked:

More than half of the world's population has reported to be suffering from black heads. Black heads are specially a major cause for concern in young women, who try their best to look as good as they can. However black heads are not really a vary serious condition but they are an indication of bad skin care. There are various methods that can be used to remove black heads effectively, a proper routine can also help keep them away.

Those unsightly black spots often found on noses and chins are called "blackheads". They're formed from the same oils that cause pimples, and when the oils are built up in the pores, where it is exposed to the air, the oil turns into a black blemish rather than the pink bumps characteristic of under-the-skin pimples.

How to Remove Blackheads

Blackheads are not a serious skin problem but if left unattended they tend to get out of hand. So the first sight that you see of blackheads you should get right to work getting rid of them.

Many people try squeezing the skin around blackheads, just like they might try with pimples, but this is never a good way to get rid of blemishes regardless of whether they're black or pink! It has little results and can actually cause the oils to spread to other areas of your face.

Removing blackheads is best done by prevention. Because they are caused by the over production of oils and the trapping of dead skin cells on your face, having a cleansing routine that effectively limits the amount of oil production is your best option for preventing new blackheads from appearing- and in time, the existing ones will also be removed from routine cleaning.

Cleaning doesn't mean you have to dry your face out completely. Choose a gentle cleanser that allows a deep clean without excessive drying (which, although it might seem like drying out the face is good for the prevention of oil, it actually causes your glands to produce even more oil to compensate for the drying effects of certain cleansers). Before cleaning, use a gentle exfoliant to remove dead skin cells, wash, and you'll find in a few weeks of maintaining a twice daily cleaning regime, you'll have noticeably less blackheads and glowing skin (from slothing off dead skin cells rather than leaving them!)

Stubborn Blackheads

In some cases, blackheads are determined to stay in your nose or chin! Do not resort to squeezing as you are likely to just push them down deeper into the skin and result in a big, flaming red pimple! Instead, fill a pot with water and let it steam. Remove from heat. With a towel draped over your head, lower your head over the pot so that the steam reaches your face (but not so close that it will burn) and stay that way for a few minutes. The steam will open your pores.

Next, you can use a blackhead remover (purchased from any department store in the cosmetic department) to gently lift the blackheads from your skin, or dab with a tissue to remove blockages. The idea is not to use anything harsh on your skin, if your black heads don't disappear the first or second time you use your techniques don't become impatient they will eventually disappear. Stay away from over the counter artificial products that can cause skin problems.

Beauty Tips - Tools Of The Trade: Hair Styling

Debrah Dragon asked:

Every once in a while you will need to change your hairstyle. Truth be told you can't live with one hairstyle for the rest of your life, so changing your hairstyle is not an option anymore it has become a necessity. Whether you have long or short hair straight or wavy changing your hair style doesn't mean you always have to visit a salon. With the tools available these days, you can style your hair right in the comfort of your home in just under an hour.

Even the best hair in the world needs a little help every once in a while. No matter how creative you get, if you want to achieve a stunning look, you're probably going to have to enlist some specialized help. But that doesn't mean you have to go to a stylist. All you really need are the right styling tools, and a little know-how. So read on, and learn how to use the styling tool you've been looking for to get the hairstyle you want.

Whether you're shopping at a salon, a department store or on the internet, there is a baffling variety of styling tools available to you-curling irons, flat irons, hair rollers, special hair brushes, dryers and more, all coming in a bunch of different styles and sizes. Why all the options? Because all of these tools are suited to a highly specialized styling purpose. Learn how they all work, and you'll know how to get the style you're looking for.

A curling iron is a pretty simple tool, but it has a lot of different uses. If you put a little product into your hair while slightly damp and wind one lock at a time around it, you'll come out with gorgeous, tight ringlets. Wind it more loosely in larger sections for a more relaxed, wavy look with great body. If you want tight curls, go for a smaller iron, or a bigger iron for wider ones. Or, clamp a horizontal layer of your hair between your curler's holder and the heated shaft and move down, to get perfect straight hair with a cute flip at the end. A flat iron can be used to get the same affect, without the flip at the end, giving you a sophisticated look- and it's great for calming down big unwanted curls. Rollers can be used to give your hair beautiful waves that curl on the end and last all day. And blow-dryers can add incredible body to your hair and get you on your way in a snap, or help dry a style in place to make sure it will last as long as you want it to.

All of these tools can help you make your hair look great, but use them with care. Too much heat applied to your hair too frequently will dry it out, causing breakage and frizz- and none of these products can help you fix that. Make sure to condition your hair regularly and well, and give your hair a rest every couple days.

Your hair and scalp also need stimulation and air, so brush your hair twice a day along with washing and conditioning it. Styling your hair can take a lot out of it, so it is necessary for you to put back some, so that your hair doesn't start to fall out.

Beauty Tips - Body Scrubs

Debrah Dragon asked:

No matter how tired or pasty your skin might look, somewhere under that dull exterior is a new you waiting to burst out-and through the use of cleansing and rejuvenating body scrubs, you can let that new you loose!

You don't have to give your skin a professionally spa treatment start looking and feeling better, right away. Body scrubs are designed to remove your old skin and reveal the new you. What's more is body scrubs also give you a fresh and revitalized feeling, you will not only look younger but you will feel much younger too.

Exfoliating body scrubs provide strong cleaning action like a body wash, rubbing away the normal grime and sweat that accumulates during the normal course of your day- but that's just the beginning. The real magic is in the tiny granules found in any exfoliant cleanser. These granules work away at your skin, removing clingy dead skin cells from the surface to reveal the fresh, young flesh beneath.

Sugar-based exfoliating body scrubs are also very popular. The granules of sugar tend to be a bit smaller than those used in salt scrubs, so a sugar-based exfoliant makes for a gentler cleansing feel, without the salty sting. Or, for a more powerful exfoliation, look for a body scrub that uses mud, pumice stone, or crushed almost shells as its exfoliant. They might sound strange, but they work wonders on your skin. Numerous people can attest to the effectiveness of body scrubs. These scrubs have worked wonders for people who have lost hope. As simple as they may be, don't be mistake their effectiveness because they are so simple to use.

If you suffer from itchy, dry skin, you might want to consider an oatmeal body scrub. Oatmeal isn't as strong an exfoliant, but its natural properties help quench parched skin, leaving it feeling soft and smooth. It may work better for your face care, considering the skin on your face is more sensitive than the rest of the body. Most body scrubs also contain a moisturizing ingredient to help your skin recover after its thorough scrubbing, but if you have dry skin, you might also look for a body scrub with a strong moisturizing component. A sugar scrub with shea butter would probably give you just the right balance to give your skin that gorgeous glow. With names and ingredients like these, the biggest challenge isn't using your body scrub-it's keeping yourself from eating it!

So you haven't started using a body scrub by now then, it is time that you started using one from today. The way you feel after you use a body scrub will change the way you look at scrubs and your body again.
