Debrah Dragon asked:
If your aim is to look younger, energetic or just simply cool you need to have good skin. Your skin plays an important part in how you look. Since your skin makes up the external part of your body it is constantly exposed to the elements, which makes it all the necessary for you to take good care of your skins needs.
Between makeup, sun exposure, stress and age, our skin takes a beating every day, and few things make a bigger statement than how you take care of it despite those beatings. Healthy skin is beautiful skin, and skin care sets can help you to keep it healthy, no matter what your age is.
A skin care set should come with everything you need to keep your skin glowing. One of the most important components of this process is your cleanser. The proper cleanser type varies greatly with you skin type, so know your skin, and pick your skin care set accordingly. The moisturizer in your skin care set is just as important. A light, non-comedogenic moisturizer with UV protection will do wonders for your skin. Not only will it help fight off itchy dryness and flaking, but a moisturizer with UV protection will help keep your skin looking young and healthy for years to come.
But these are just the day-to-day elements of skin care. To really help your skin be at its best and healthiest, you will need a facial every once in a while. Luckily, you don't have to go to a spa in order to get one. Some skin care sets come complete with everything you need to give yourself a facial from the comfort of your home, at a fraction of the cost.
For a facial, you can first use your normal skin cleanser to clean away topical soil. Your skin care-set should come with an exfoliant for you to use next, so that you can gently remove dead skin to reveal the healthy new skin beneath it. After you have rinsed the exfoliant, steam your face to open up your pores, and then use the facial mask from your chosen set.
The type of mask you should use varies greatly upon your skin type, as with your cleanser, so look at different sets to make sure you get the one best suited to you. For best results, people with dry skin should use a cream or gel mask to hydrate the skin, while people with oily skin should use a clay-based mask. Leave your mask on for ten to twenty minutes, and take that time to relax and unwind.
After ten-to-twenty minutes, you will wash your mask off completely, and it is time to moisturize. You can use your usual moisturizer, smoothing it gently over your skin. You'll look great, you'll feel great, and, with a skin care set, it's all so easy!
If you are always on a tight time leash, then a skin care set is an excellent investment. It will save you time, energy and will provide you the flexibility to use it anywhere and at any time you want. This means no matter where you are or what you are doing you can always break out your skin care set and take care of your skin's needs. An excellent time as well as skin saver.

Beauty Tips - Stop Itching And Dry Scalp
Debrah Dragon asked:
Has your hair lost its natural bounce and shine? Does your scalp itch, or flake embarrassingly? It doesn't have to stay that way, you can repair your hair and scalp with a variety of products. There are shampoos and conditioners out there that can help. Your hair and scalp need care and attention just like the rest of you, so listen to its signals. If it doesn't look good, and it doesn't feel good, it's probably time for a change. If you're aware of your hair type and your options, and you use the knowledge well, you never have to have a bad hair day again.
First and foremost, know your hair. There are thousands of different hair care products out there, but they will only be as effective as possible if you match them up with your hair type appropriately. If your hair is dry and brittle, you need a rich, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to help quench your locks, to restore their supple shine. If your hair is fine or thin, using a rich shampoo can make it even more limp and drab, taking away what little body it has,and a conditioner to match will only make it worse. People with fine hair should go for a light, clear shampoo, and may not even want to condition their hair on a daily basis, to avoid weighing your hair down.
People with oily hair have it rough. You would think that thorough, frequent washing would help unload greasy locks and keep your hair nice and light, but unfortunately, that's not how it works. Frequent washing dries out your scalp, causing oil-producing glands to work overtime, making the top of your hair even oilier, while the bottom of your hair dries out.
Shampoo once a day at most, and condition the ends of your hair thoroughly. Of course, you can have the most beautiful hair in the world, and a little dandruff will spoil the look completely. Luckily, most dandruff can be treated by frequent use of a dandruff shampoo and conditioner. You don't have to use it every day, if you prefer another conditioner, but continued use will help prevent future dandruff. If you have an extreme case, and dandruff shampoos don't do the trick, you may have psoriasis on your scalp. Many cases of psoriasis of the scalp can be treated and controlled with a shampoo that contains coal tar. It might sound funny, but it works wonders. It's worth a try, for beautiful hair and a healthy scalp.
Many of the scalp problems can be solved with just using the right kind of shampoo. Don't given in to the itch to scratch your scalp as that can result in damage to your scalp in the form of wounds. These wounds over time may heal, but it can also cause various types of scalp skin problems. The best way to stop your scalp from itching is to use shampoo and wash your head; however it may just stop the itching for a while. Another remedy would be to use lemon juice on your scalp. Just squeeze a fresh lemon and apply it to your scalp, at first if they are any wounds you will feel a slight burning sensation but that should subside after a few minutes and then you should be absolutely scratch free, then you can wash your scalp of the lemon juice.

Beauty Tips - Caring For Your Hair Naturally
Debrah Dragon asked:
We all use commercially available shampoos and conditioners without realizing the damage these commercial products cause. The chemicals they contain can at times cause more damage than good, which is why natural alternatives are much better as they don't have any side effects. Amazingly these are almost hundreds of things you can use at home that are great commercial product alternatives.
We all want healthy hair. We want our hair to shine, look great, and have a fullness that most people dream about. However, in many cases, we do not want to use harsh chemicals and ingredients that claim to help our hair, but actually end up doing more hair damage in the process.
You have options, you can go the more expensive route with high priced hair products to take care of your hair and then have a tough time in choosing the right one for you. Or you can go the inexpensive route and have healthy, shiny, and full of life hair naturally.
Below are some tips to naturally conditioning and caring for your hair.
Egg
You may not realize it but egg is a great source of protein for both your body and your hair. In a bowl, beat one egg thoroughly, remove the white of the egg and just use the yoke. This is because the white of the egg is known to dry up the scalp and cause dryness, after all its only the yoke that has a high protein content. Then wash your hair as normal, and massage the beaten egg into your hair. Wait five minutes, then rinse with COLD water. You do not want to rinse the egg from your hair with hot water; the results will not be pleasant.
Mayonnaise
Hair conditioner does not need to be expensive, get a jar of inexpensive mayonnaise. Massage your hair and scalp with the mayonnaise thoroughly and rinse. Again, make sure you rinse with COLD water, as rinsing with hot water will cause the mayonnaise to set, making it difficult to avoid oily, greasy hair.
Beer
Instead of rinse and repeat, try doing your final rinse with some beer. The beer should have a light scent, so as not to make your hair smell like beer, the result will be a shine that any woman will want.
Rosemary Oil
With the rosemary oil heated slightly, massage the oil onto your hair and scalp. Allow the oil to sit for a few minutes, then using warm water, rinse thoroughly.
Yogurt
Yogurt is a great way to relieve dry, itchy scalp, as well as dandruff. Apply the yogurt generously to the hair, wrap the saturated hair with a towel and let the yogurt sit for fifteen minutes. Finally, rinse hair thoroughly.
Vinegar Solution
This solution is made up of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water. The solution can be poured on the hair or put into a spray bottle and sprayed. This solution helps remove any buildup of shampoo on the hair, leaving it easier to style and manage altogether.
These are just a few of the natural remedies in hair care. Taking care of your hair is essential to look great all the way around, if you want to keep it looking great, choosing the right hair care products is necessary.
The health of our hair is imperative so why not take out some extra time and care about its needs? After all your hair is your beauties' biggest secret.

Beauty Guide To Cleansing, Toning And Moisturising
Laura J Robinson asked:
We all want skin that looks and feels young and healthy. A good cleansing, toning and moisturising routine is essential for keeping your skin firm and youthful. The following is a guide to cleansing, toning and moisturising that should be undertaken daily.
Cleansing
A good cleansing routine is needed to remove makeup and dirt. Not removing makeup up and dirt on a daily basis can block your pores which can lead to an outbreak in spots. Cleansing should be done twice a day. If you cleanse too frequently though, you can strip the skin of its natural oils, which will make those with dry skin have even drier skin. It will also make those with oily skin have even oilier skin, as the glands will become more active to replace it. Therefore it is best not to cleanse more than twice a day.
Before you start to cleanse, you should wash your hands thoroughly to remove any dirt or grease that might have built up.
Eye makeup (such as mascara and eye shadow) can be removed using cotton balls or pads to apply eye cleansing lotion. With your eyes firmly closed, gently wipe across your eyes until all your eye makeup has been removed.
Makeup can be removed as follows. Generously apply cleansing cream to your nose, chin, cheeks, forehead and around the top of your neck, then massage the cream into the skin. You should particularly concentrate on the corners of the mouth, the creases near the nose, the chin (which is especially prone to blackheads), and around the neck. After you have massaged the cream in thoroughly, take a moist cotton pad, and start removing the cream from your face. Work from the sides of your face inwards to avoid rubbing cream into your hair.
Toning
Toning is the process of removing dead skin cells from your face, as well as removing any dirt, makeup or cleanser that may remain after cleansing. By toning, you will help keep your skin clear and firm, as toning leaves you with a layer of new healthy skin cells on top.
With cotton pads, apply toner around your nose and chin. Then apply toner across your cheeks and across your forehead.
Moisturising
When skin is exposed to the elements, it can lose its natural moisture, and you can be left with dry skin. The skin being depleted of it natural moisture can be one of the main cause of wrinkles. Moisturising replenishes the skins natural moisture which help can prevent dry skin and the formation of wrinkles. Moisturising can also act as a barrier to the elements. Many moisturisers now have some sun block in them, and can be identified as such by their SPF value, which should be stated on the packaging. Unless you have very dry skin, always use a light moisturiser.
Using your finger tips, apply the moisturiser lightly to your face. You should start by rubbing the cream into your forehead, and working outwards from the centre. Gently apply the cream around the eyes, making sure you don't get it too close to them. Massage the cream into your cheeks and around your jaw line, around your chin, then your mouth and nose, and then around your throat and your neck. Don't apply too much moisturiser, as this can prevent your skin from breathing.

An-Aromatherapy-How-To-Guide
beauty asked:
Learning to use aromatherapy is a great way to relax, unwind, rejuvenate and uplift your spirits. It can also be a good way to start a romantic evening with that special person. If you are a beginner to aromatherapy the aromatherapy guide below will help you to uncover basic, introductory information in the practice of aromatherapy.
It is also important to learn how to store and care for your essential oils properly. A good aromatherapy guide will instruct you to store your oils in dark glass, such as cobalt blue or amber, bottles only. These bottles should then be kept in a cool, dark location. A wooden box is a good location and also portable.
When selecting and purchasing essential oils for aromatherapy, purity is key. Opt for a local health shop rather than a cosmetics store and check the labels to avoid chemical copies and reconstituted products.
The best essential oils have essences that have been extracted using steam distillation, expression, solvent extraction, maceration or effleurage. How do you know you have the good stuff?
Aromas have a way of releasing certain chemicals in our body which in turn give rise to many emotions. Chemicals like endorphins, enkephalin and serotonin are released by the introduction of various aromas. These chemicals released in the body make us relax, reduce pain and give us a sense of wellbeing. The olfactory nerves transfer the smells to the limbic system in our brain immediately. That is why aromatherapy has an immediate effect on us.
An aromatherapy massage is a great way to relieve stress and show someone how much you care about them. In order to ensure an aromatherapy massage provides physical and emotional benefits without causing potential injury; however, it is important to follow safety guidelines.
First, always keep in mind that the oils used in aromatherapy are flammable, so use care when using near open flame.
It is also important to remember that you should never using painful or hard pressure during an aromatherapy massage. While hard pressure may feel good if the person is particularly tense, the best method is to use gentle movements in order to avoid possible injury.
In addition, avoiding directly massaging bones during an aromatherapy massage as this can cause injury. If an area has been fractured, always avoid this area to avoid possible re-injury. It is also important to avoid any areas that are infected.
How Does Aromatherapy Work?
Various essential oils have different uses. If you have ever walked through a pine forest you will know that the aroma from the trees is very refreshing. If it was a holiday experience you might consider how marvelous it would be, if you could bottle that wondrous smell and take it home! You can do just that because that is what aromatherapy is partly about. Bottling nature so you can take it home, add a few drops to your bath water, sit back and create a holiday experience in the privacy of your own home. Using aromatherapy in this way is doubly effective as you derive benefit from inhalation, and through the skin.

Braid Hairstyles - Simple Step By Step Guide
beauty asked:
Braided rugs are extremely versatile in the ability to add color and warmth to any room in a home. They have been doing this a long time since pioneer women first brightened their homes with rugs made out of scraps of old fabrics. Traditional braided rugs added beauty while warming up stark cold floors and continue to be one of the most popular rugs for this purpose.
The braid hairstyle is a flattering, sexy style for women with medium to long hair and if this is you, it could be the look for 2007. Braids are great in the summer weather, just start with a pony tail and braid your hair. You can choose from French braids, plain braids or corn rows. Braids are so versatile, they can be interwoven with pretty ribbons, or pinned in place with classy clip. The French braid is great for controlling unruly locks on a bad hair day.
Before you start to braid you should spray your hair with water or styling spray to make it easier to comb. Again divide the hair into three sections hold the middle section firm and pull the right section across, then the left, and then pull across the center. You can braid your hair loose or tight depending on your preference. Always finish off your braid with an elastic band. You can then either leave the braid hanging or wind it around your head. Once you get used to braiding, it can be done within a few minutes.
First Step:
First begin it by applying a style gel, mousse or pomade to clean, damp hair and blow drying it as smooth as possible. Braiding hair that has not been washed on that particular day and already has hair products in it also works well.
Second Step:
Divide tangle free hair into three even sections. Place the left section between the left index finger and thumb, let the middle section hang free and place the right section between the right index finger and thumb. This will begin to create the hair braids.
Third Step:
Grab the middle section with the right middle finger and pull it so it passes behind the right section. Extend your right thumb and index finger so the portion of hair there in becomes the middle section.
Fourth Step:
Use the left middle finger to pull the middle section behind the left section. Extend or straighten the left index finger and thumb to make the left section become the middle section. Pay careful attention to the smoothness and tension of your hair braid sections.
Fifth Step:
Shift the portion of hair hooked in the right middle finger so it sits between the right index finger and thumb. Repeat the process, then shift the portion of the hair hooked in the left middle finger so it sits between the left index finger and thumb.
Sixth Step:
Continue until you achieve the desired length of the hair braid. Make a tighter, more compact braid by pulling the middle section into a horizontal line as you pull it to the right or left. For a loose, elongated braid, simply shift the middle section to the right or left, letting it remain in a vertical line.
Seventh Step:
Tie off the ends of the hair braid with a covered rubber band. Add a bow or barrette when appropriate.
